Polvorones/Mantecados (Christmas candy) recipe

Polvorones or Mantecados are the most common dish that you can eat in Southern Spain during Christmas time. Jerez, Google Street View

Surely you are tired of reading that we are in Jerez, that we want you to come here to learn spanish and enjoy this city. Tom Cruise and Cameron Díaz will film their next movie in Cádiz province





Cádiz province will be, again, on the big screen. Knight and Day, an action comedy with Tom Cruise and Cameron Díaz, will be filmed in Cádiz province. Austria and Germany nearer than ever. Østerrike og Tyskland nærmere enn noen sinne.

Air Berlin will start flying to Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt the next 1st of november. These flights will depart from Jerez once a week, on Mondays to Frankfurt and Sttugart and on Fridays to Düsseldorf. On February will be a weekly flight (fridays) to Viena.

All this information confirms that Jerez is becoming a must be visited spanish city. We hope that we can keep on teaching to german or austrian students. Book your lessons now!

Captain Kirk (Star Trek) lands in Jerez. Kaptein Kirk (Star Trek) lander i Jerez.






Captain Kirk has visited Jerez, the actor Willian Shatner (on the picture beside Rafael Soto) enjoyed his visit to Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestre and said: "There isn´t nothing like this on the States. It´s an awesome show and a must for all the horses´fans", also added: "Though I´m in Spain to present my documentary, Gonzo Ballet, at the Malaga´s Festival, a friend of mine told me about Jerez and this area. I really didn´t knew what could I find here, now I know it, a charming city, excellent gastronomy and a lovely weather. After this trip I can say that, at least, Jerez is as charming as Málaga. I´ll be back to the area for sure". Fall is here and Jerez starts to shine better than ever, the young wine (mosto) can be drunk and the city open its arms to the visitors. Garlick Shrimp recipe. Hvitløks reker, oppskrift.

First of all, though Garlick Shrimps (Gambas al ajillo) is one of the most famous tapas of Spain it´s different all over the country. Here we have the traditional recipe but on the Málaga´s way to cook it. This dish is also known as Gambas al pil-pil (pil-pil is the sound that the olive oil does when the dish is ready) and includes some cayena or red hot pepper. Enjoy.

Snorkel at the beach

Another activity that you will be able to enjoy at the coast is snorkel. In Cala del Aceite you can find the best sea to practice free diving and enjoy a nice day of snorkel to see the fishes of this area. Though placed in Conil you must remember that is just one hour ago of Jerez, then the plan should be go to Conil to enjoy the sea and come back to Jerez/Sanlúcar/Chipiona to rest at your spanish "home". Virgen de Regla (Chipiona)

The host of Chipiona, Virgen de Regla, is one of the most original virgins that you can find all over Spain. Cubans that came during the Nineteenth century let us their legacy and traditions. A black virgin is one of them, miracles, religion, culture and mystic thoughts collide at the "procesión" on the streets of Chipiona. Here you have a little piece of it and a song dedicated to her by one of the most famous singers of Chipiona, Rocío Jurado.

New flights from Jerez to Germany

The 2nd of november Air Berlin will start flying from Jerez to different german cities. Every Monday you will be able to fly to Francfort and Stuttgart, but also, as you can already do, every Friday you will be able to fly to Düsseldorf. New ways to come and enjoy Costa de la Luz and, of course, learn Spanish!

Costa de la Luz

Many readers have asked us about why do we call our school Lengualuz. Lengua means language, Luz means light but also it´s linked to Costa de la Luz. A wonderful place where you can travel through the Cadiz province to enjoy history, gastronomy, beaches, mountains and culture. Maria Pages´ flamenco art

The one and only Maria Pages blasted the Villamarta theatre during her show. These weeks we hold Festival de Jerez, a huge Flamenco festival with the best artists. Flamenco guitar and dance lessons, shows starting on the evening till´ 2 a.m. and all the city to live flamenco.
